Solid and Poo

My baby is eating 2 solid meals a day now, that means a decrease in her milk feed during the day time. And she loves porridge! Cook it with any veges like potato, pumpkin, carrot, spinach, tomato and she will finish almost a bowl for you. Yesterday nanny reported she has very bad constipation for the first time. Valerie's face turned all red trying to poo poo. After half an hour of trying, the nanny said she look really pitiful. In the end, she managed to help baby by using a enema. Poor baby!

So as of yesterday onwards, I've decided to add a fruit intake into her daily diet. I read in Asian Parenting that babies at her age should have a fruit puree after every meal, if not, at least once a day. Since nanny still believe water is the cause to constipation, I took the liberty to start adding fruits. Hopefully with more fibre in her diet, her bowel movements will improve. I've also read that breastfed babies will face a bigger constipation problem when they start on solid as they are so used to digesting breastmilk easily. Adding solid would put stress to their digestive system.

Sigh.. I miss those days when my baby pooed after every milk feed. Those times nanny complained she pooed too much.. Well now.. none at all for a few days.. Brrhhh....

The Jumperoo

Last weekend we brought baby Valerie to the Maybank fair @ Midvalley. When we saw how packed the halls were, I decided to just walk around level 1 with Valerie while Ivan brought his mom into the fair to see what she could exchange. Well, she has like 140000 points!!! Saved up in the last 10 years. Only Maybank card will allow points accumulation for years without expiring. Since I only had like less than 30k, I didn't bother. Well, will wait for another few years time.

When I was at Toys R Us, I saw the Fisher Price Jumperoo on display. I couldn't resist, so I put baby Valerie in to see if she likes jumping around. When she first got it, she was a bit wobbly and she tried to hold on to the sides to keep balance. After that, she started playing the little rattle in front of her. Few seconds later, she realised she could hop and jump around. Then the big grin on the face!

She continued playing and jumping around and mommy took a few shots of her. I really thought we were promoting the Jumperoo as we attracted many passer-bys, with the Oohs and Aaahs.. how cute the baby was.. LOL. I then sms-ed Ivan to tell him about the Jumperoo and minutes later daddy and grandma were at Toys R Us looking at Valerie jumping up and down!! :D

By the time Valerie got hold of the red bug that was hanging up and attempting to put it into her mouth, I decided it was time to take her out. When I put her on my arms, her legs continued jumping. I almost lost my energy just trying to carry her. Ivan said 'If you buy her that thing, you are going to create a hyper-active baby. So don't even think about it.. ' :P :P
